Title:
HYDROPHILIC SPLITTABLE CONJUGATE POLYOLEFIN FIBER AND NONWOVEN FABRIC
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3528327
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject fiber capable of suppressing the generation of static electricity during carding process and improving the dispersibility in water in a paper-making process by kneading a specific amount of a hydrophilic resin into at least one component of the conjugate fiber.
CONSTITUTION: A hydrophilic resin such as polyethylene glycol or polyvinyl alcohol is kneaded in an amount of 20-90wt.% into at least one component constituting a splittable conjugated fiber. A sufficiently and uniformly split ultrafine fiber nonwoven fabric is obtained in decreased number of steps in a process for producing a nonwoven fabric by a high-pressure water jet and the obtained nonwoven fabric has excellent wiping performance, softness and hydrophilicity.
