EXAMPLE: 4-(3,4-Dimethoxy-2-hydroxy-6-methyl-5-nicotinoyloxy)phenyl-4-phenyl-1- thiomorpholino-1-oxobutane.
USE: An ameliorating and remedying agent effective against intracerebral organic disorder or pathergasia by oral administration.
PREPARATION: The compound of formula I can be produced either by heating and reacting a compound of formula II with morpholine or thiomorpholine in an inert solvent such as benzene or toluene or by further reacting the reaction product with a carboxylic acid of formula R3COOH (R3 is (substituted) lower alkyl, aromatic group or heterocyclic group), its anhydride or halide.
