PURPOSE: To obtain a new hydroxylamine deriv. which is useful as an inhibitor of an enzyme, 5-lipoxygenase, and which can be used for diseases or condition involved in leucotrine.
CONSTITUTION: Hydroxylamine derivatives of formula I (R4 is H, carbamoyl, an alkyl, alkanoyl or benzoyl; R5 is H, an alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkanoyl or the like; R6 is H, an alkyl, phenyl or phenylalkyl; R7 is H or an alkyl; Ar1 is phenylene; A1 is a direct bond to X1 or alkylene; X1 is oxy, thio, sulfinyl or the like; Ar2 is phenylene, pyridinediyl, pyrimidinediyl or the like; R1 is an alkyl, alkenyl or alkynyl; R2 and R3 form a ring), or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, such as N-[4-[5-fluoro-3-(4-methoxytetrahydropyran-4-yl) phenylthio]-α-methylbenzyl]-O-methylhydroxylamine. The compounds of the formula I wherein R4 and R7 are each H can be obtained by reducing oximes of formula II.
