PURPOSE: To construct a stabilized super string dome with diversified designs by separating a continuous dome space into two structural systems, say, a roof and a wall member, and tying compression and bending materials with a tension material.
CONSTITUTION: A wall structure C connected to a roof structure B and a peripheral part of the roof structure B and a lower structure D connected to the lower end edge of the wall structure C constitute a hyper string dome A. A plurality of beams 22 are installed in a radiant fashion between compression rings 26 in the central part of the roof structure B and the upper end of posts which constitute a 3D truss type support G. A multi-stage tension string E is formed with the beams 22 and a plurality of vertical materials 27 suspended from the beams 22 and a suspension string 28 installed to the lower end of each vertical material 27 and the beams 22 in a stretched fashion. The top of each beam 22 thus formed is covered with a membrane material where a tension force is given to the membrane material by means of a plurality of valley cables in the direction identical to each beam 22, thereby building up a membrane roof F.
