Abstract:
To prevent a smoke intercepting screen from falling due to its self weight even if brake is applied.
In a smoke intercepting device for elevators, which is provided with a take-up device 6 for moving the smoke intercepting screen for elevators upward or downward, a hypoid gear motor having a hypoid gear 9 comprising a pinion gear 21 formed at the tip of the output shaft 20 of a motor coil section 7 and a ring gear 23, which meshes with the pinion gear 21 and whose output shaft 11 is arranged so as to be perpendicular to the output shaft 20 of the motor coil section 7 is employed for the drive motor of the take-up device 6.
