Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the number of part items, reduce cost by using standard parts, provide strength and durability, and also facilitate dismounting and remounting.

CONSTITUTION: Wooden sleepers 12 are laid down on ballast at specified intervals, and rails 13 are provided on them in parallel with each other. Also a checkered plate 15 at the rear of which an I-shaped steel 14 is welded is arranged between the tracks, and a checkered plate 21 to which an I-shaped steel 14 is welded is arranged on the outside of the tracks. These checkered plates 15 and 21 are positioned in approximately the same level as a road surface 19 and the track 13, respectively. Then a retainer 16 is clamped on the adjacent I-shaped steel 14, and a screw spike 18 is screwed into the sleepers 12 through the retainer 16 using a wrench passed through a screw hole 17 formed in the checkered plates 15 and 21 so as to fix the I-shaped steel 14 on the sleepers. After the I-shaped steel has been fixed, a cover is put on the screw hole 17.
