PURPOSE: To greatly improve the pumping performance by suppressing the generation of vapor in a pump and ensurance of a stable fuel delivery amount.
CONSTITUTION: An impeller 30 for feeding fuel with a pressure is rotatably contained in a pump housing by a fuel pump 10. When the impeller 30 is rotated, fuel introduced to a fuel suction part 42 flows through a C-shaped fuel passage 40, formed at the outer periphery of the impeller 30, to the fuel delivery part 48 of a pump casing 24. A press bleeding hole 47 is formed in a partition member 49 to peripherally partition the fuel suction part 42 and the fuel delivery part 48 of the fuel passage 40 from each other. When comparatively high pressure fuel through the fuel delivery part 48 held in the vane grooves 33 of the impeller 30 is peripherally moved to the fuel suction part 42 side, the fuel is released through the hole 47 to the outside of the pump. Thereby, the generation of vapor owing to the rapid decrease of a fuel pressure at the fuel suction part 42 is suppressed.
