Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a polarizing film with excellent polarizing characteristics and durability by incorporating a specific anthraquinone dye in a film base material made of a hydrophobic resin. CONSTITUTION:An anthraquinone dye represented by the formula wherein R<1> is a hydroxyl, amino or lower alkylamino group; X is a nitrogen atom or a methine group; A is an aromatic bifunctional group; (n) is an integer of 0 or 1; provided when (n) is 0, then X denotes N-N.
