NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (Z is CH=N or CH=CH). EXAMPLE:A compund expressed by formula II. USE:Used as yellow dichronic coloring matter for a light-polarizing film. Said compound has excellent durability. PREPARATION:An anthraquinone-based compound expressed by formula III is made to react with a compound expressed by formula IV [R1 is NH2, X<-> R2P<+>-CH2- (R2 is phenyl, methyl or ethyl; X is halogen) or (R2O)2(PO)-CH2-] in the presence of a solvent.
