Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of the disturbance in the orientation of a continuous long fiber or the sagging of a molding material at the time of the molding or preforming of the molding material or at the time of final molding using the molding material and to also effectively prevent the generation of ply separation.

CONSTITUTION: Continuous long fibers composed of a thermoplastic liquid crystal resin are oriented in a predetermined direction to be compounded with a plate shaped matrix containing a thermoplastic matrix resin to obtain a plate-shaped molding material B1 molded within the temp. range from the lowest moldable temp. of the matrix resin to below the liquid crystal transition temp. of the liquid crystal resin. When films S1c, S1b, S1a of a liquid crystal resin composite are laminated, the continuous long fibers in the respective films are woven by a thermoplastic liquid crystal resin fiber LF to form the molding material.
