PURPOSE: To obtain a substance having a compatible poly(meth)acrylate coating, comprising a styrene polymer and a flame retarder, being excellent in cracking and corrosion resistances and light transmittance and useful for the building of a house etc.
CONSTITUTION: This substance is formed from a mixture of (A) 70-99.9 pts.wt. polymer contg. 20-100 wt.% styrene units and (B) 0.1-30 pts.wt. flame retarder compatible with the component A as a nuclear material, e.g. hexabromocyclododecane or the like and is provided with a coating of poly(meth)acrylate contg. (C) 10-100 wt.% monomer of the formula [where, R1 is H or methyl; R2 is a 5-8C (substd.) cycloalkyl or a nonarom. ring carbon-contg. heterocycle] and compatible with the mixture of the components A, B. Where, the component A contains <10 wt.% monomer from a group comprising (meth) acrylonitrile, maleic anhydride and maleimide.
