Abstract:
A diffusion transfer photosensitive black and white film unit comprises; (a) a photosensitive element comprising an opaque support carrying in succession, antihalation layer including 1.5 - 25 wt% antihalation material, 25 - 68.5 wt% titanium dioxide, and binder, and at least one photosensitive silver halide layer; (b) an image receiving element comprising a transparent support carrying an image receiving layer comprising silver nucleating material, superimposed on the photosensitive element so as to receive image silver released from it upon photoexposure and development; (c) means for providing an aqueous alkaline processing composition for initiating development comprising an amount of light reflecting pigment capable of forming a light reflecting layer during processing which provides a white background against which to view the final image; (d) silver halide solvent; (e) silver reducing agent.
