Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the title improver improving wax dispersibility and filterability of a petrolium-distilled fuel oil by compounding a specified copolymer contg. ethylene and a vinyl carboxylate and a modified ethylene-vinyl carboxylate copolymer together. CONSTITUTION:The title improver comprises a copolymer contg. ethylene and a vinyl carboxylate (e.g. vinyl acetate), consisting of 85-68% ethylene and 15-32% vinyl carboxylate based on the wt. of the copolymer, having a number-average mol.wt. of 500-4,000 and 4.5-6.5 CH3 - terminated side chain branches per 100 methylene groups of the ethylene chain except CH3 groups in ester groups and a modifier which is pref. an unsatd. carboxylate (e.g. dioctyl maleate) adduct of an ethylene-vinyl carboxylate copolymer.
