PURPOSE: To improve operability by generating a custom file from TOC of a disk, and forming a system controller retrieving and controlling a RAM stored with a book mark point.
CONSTITUTION: When a disk is loaded in a disk tray 30, a system controller 53 reads TOC, and discriminates the disk and generates a custom file. A RAM 54 is retrieved by the custom file, and it is discriminated whether or not the loaded disk is one already registered with the book mark. When the book mark is not registered, book mark reproduction is not performed. When it is registered, book mark reproducing operation is waited for. When a standby period is not one under reproducing, a video output is taken in a video RAM 43, and outputted on a monitor device. The system controller 53 allows an optical head 34 to have access and starts reproduction by instructing book mark reproducing operation by operating an operating section 56.
