Title:
OXIDATION-RESISTANT RARE EARTH/IRON PERMANENT MAGNET BONDED WITH EPOXY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0613216
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To increase the oxidation resistance of a permanent magnet article at a high temperature by uniformly mixing a thermosetting epoxy resin with a composition, that contains at least one type of proper oxidation preventing agent and then blending iron - neodium - boron permanent magnet particles. CONSTITUTION: Iron - neodium - boron particles that are magnetic and isotropic with a coercive force of at least approximately 5×10<6> /4 πA/m (5,000 oersteds) at a room temperature is blended with an epoxy resin mixture, containing an epoxy resin and an antioxidant composition. The antioxidant composition is made of a phenol oxidation preventing agent with a steric hindrance with an equivalent amount of high molecular weight amount, thioester, and an antioxidant and exists by approximately 0.03-4.5 wt% with respect to the total mass of particles. The epoxy resin is made to exists by approximately 0.1-10.0 wt% with respect to the total mass of particles, thus enabling a permanent magnet article to markedly increase the oxidation resistance, especially at a high temperature.
