Abstract:
A process for producing a cloned macrophage activating factor (GcMAFc) comprises the steps of: a) cloning a Gc1 isoform into a baculovirus vector; b) expressing the cloned Gc1 isoform thereby producing the cloned protein (Gc1), wherein the Gc1 protein comprises approximately 458 amino acids with a molecular weight of approximately 52000 Da and three distinct domains, c) contacting cloned Gc protein in vitro with immobilized beta -galactosidase and sialidase; and d) obtaining the cloned macrophage activating factor (GcMAFc).
