PURPOSE: To enable reliable observation of hologram by performing a dyeing processing of the hologram to form a dyed density distribution on a surface to be observed corresponding to a diffraction ratio distribution of a diffraction grating.
CONSTITUTION: A crystal 2a of a dyeing processing agent is put into a glass flask container 1 of a dyeing processing device 10 and vapor 2b of the dyeing processing agent is generated sufficiently to perform a dyeing processing of a hologram 4. As an organic material is used for a hologram material, the dyeing processing agent herein used is not specifically limited and, for example, at least one of iodine, osmic acid, bromine, luthenium tetraoxide and the like is selected preferably only if it meets the requirement. A dyed density distribution is formed by the dyeing processing of the hologram 4 in a photopolymer material forming a diffraction grating corresponding a distribution with a different refraction index so that a density distribution can be formed on the surface to be observed relative to the interval of the diffraction gratings. This enables the observation of the density distribution with a microscope high in resolving power thereby achieving highly reliable observation of the hologram.
