Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve resolution, by using an external γ-ray source with a plurality of γ-ray peaks and a reference waste, obtaining an absorption correction coefficient for each TRU (ultra uranium element) and correcting transmittancy, and accurately correcting a counting rate. SOLUTION: An external γ-ray source 10 is fixed and counting rates I01 , I02 ,... of each γ-ray peak being discharged from the external γ-ray source 10 are measured by a germanium detector 3 without installing any waste on a turntable 2. A reference waste is installed on the truntable 2, and the counting rates IS1 , IS2 ,... of each γ-ray peak of the external γ-ray source 10 are measured. Transmittancy Ts =Is /IO of the reference waste is calculated, thus calculating an absorption correction coefficient. A measurement target waste 1 is installed on the turntable 2, and the counting rate of each γ-ray peak that is discharged from the external γ-ray source 10 and is transmitted through the measurement target waste 1 is measured by the germanium detector 3. By multiplying a measured counting rate by the absorption correction coefficient, the true counting rate of the γ-ray peak of each TRU can be obtained.
