Abstract:
PURPOSE: To allow a presser foot to be driven either to a top dead point or a desired middle point lower than that during sewing.
CONSTITUTION: When sewing a curved line or tacking on a material to be sewn, a hand switch is half pushed to drive a link mechanism 24 to a middle point, and to drive a presser foot 3 to go up to a desired middle point lower than a top dead point. To release the material to be sewn, the hand switch is full pressed to drive the link mechanism 24 to the top dead point, and to drive the presser foot 3 to go up to the top dead point. The height of the middle point is adjusted by changing the position of the supporting shaft 31a of an adjusting link by rotating on adjusting dial.
