PURPOSE: To detect that a user falls down in a cage and to report that to the outer side, by providing detecting devices in an elevator landing and in the cage, and a warning device or devices to the elevator landing and/or a living room, in an elevator for private house.

CONSTITUTION: When a door is opened by responding to a call for an elevator landing, the presence of a user is decided at first from the outputs of a heat sensitive sensor 4 installed to the landing and a heat sensitive sensor 5 installed in a cage, or from the output of a differential transistor 1 for load detecting installed under the cage. And when the presence of the user is decided, and then a destination button in the cage is operated, a normal operation is carried out. On the other hand, when the destination floor button is not operated after a specific time passes, after the presence of the user is decided, a warning device 5 in a living room is operated to report an abnormal condition, and at the same time, the cage is waited in the door opening condition. And the warning device 5 is operated in the same manner, when the presence of the user is being detected after a specific time passes, after the cage reaches to the destination floor and the door is opened.
