Abstract:
PURPOSE: To judge whether the mounting of a pack battery is right or wrong by detecting the voltage of a temperature detecting terminal at the time of on or off of a switching element connected in parallel with one of voltage divider resistors for detecting the voltage of a battery, and judging whether the voltage is equal or not. CONSTITUTION: The values of resistors 15, 14a, and 14b are made R1, R2, and R3, and the resistance value of a thermistor 3 is made Rt, and the voltage of a secondary battery 2 is made V. If the positive and negative electrode terminals 4 and 5 of the pack battery 1 are connected normally to the charging positive electrode and charging negative electrode terminals 11 and 12, the voltage at the potential dividing point becomes that Vt=Rt.VD/(R1+Rt) regardless of the on/off of a transistor Tr2. When the terminals 5 and 12 are not connected yet, the voltage at the potential dividing point at the time of having turned off Tr20 satisfies Vt1=Vd-R1(Vd+v)/(R1+R2+R3+Rt), and the voltage at the potential dividing point at the time of having turned off satisfies Vt2= Vd-R1(Vd+V)/(R1+R2+Rt), so they do not become equal. Hereby, the mounting of the pack battery can be judged easily.
