Abstract:
An element is provided for varying the phase of acoustic waves for use in a sound insulating wall. The element comprises a porous member (15) supported around a sound insulating plate assembly (14). The plate assembly (14) comprises a plurality of sound insulating plates (12, 13) which form a plurality of independent spaces (16) therebetween. The sound insulating wall comprises a sound insulating panel (11) provided to stand in the vicinity of a sound source. The phase changing element is mounted along an upper end portion of the sound insulating panel (11).
