Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the novel ketone compound, having an animal or an ambery fragrance and useful as a material for various compound perfumes such as a perfume or a soap.
CONSTITUTION: This 4-(3-methyl-3-buteny)-4α,5,6,7,8,8α-hexahydro-3,4α,8,8- tetramethyl-2(1H)-naphthalenone is expressed by the formula. The ketone compound expressed by the formula is a compound, contained in an essential oil (labdanum essential oil) of Cistus ladaniferus L. which is a species of the genus Cistus and obtained by carrying out the extraction, development, etc., of e.g. labdanum gum which is a crude labdanum essential oil with an organic solvent and isolating the resultant compound according to the high-performance liquid chromatography.
