PURPOSE: To correct accurately the oblique feeding by forming a condition bending a paper sheet adequately when the paper sheet is stopped once on the way of conveying, in a paper conveying device used for a copying machine, a facsimile, an image scanner, a printer, and the like, and to deliver in order the documents to carry out the reading and the scanning, or the paper sheets an image is fixed.

CONSTITUTION: A paper 10 to be conveyed is abutted to a conveying roll 1 and stopped once, and then the rear side of the paper 10 is delivered a specific amount by a rearward feed roll 2. A sensor 3 to detect the arrival of the front end of the paper is provided between the rearward feed roll 2 and the conveying roll 1, and the pulse number input to a pulse control motor 4 is counted by a counter means 7 while the paper is conveyed from a specific position to the position of the sensor 3. Furthermore, a motor drive control device 8 controls the drive of the pulse control motor 4, depending on the value obtained by the counter means 7.
