Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce an internal resistance and to increase a storage battery capacity to a prescribed size by connecting both protrusion of a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate to each other so as to form a set of plates having a same polarity, and connecting the set of plates to each other for providing a welded part between cells. CONSTITUTION: A cell element comprises a positive electrode plate 18 and a negative electrode plate 20 having a pair of protrusion 24, 26 and a pair of protrusions 28, 30, respectively. The protrusion 24, 26 of the positive electrode 18 are connected by means of straps 34, 36 which connect the plates having a same polarity to form a set of plates. The straps 34, 36 are composed of lead or lead alloy. The straps 34, 36 are connected to each other by means of strap connection means composed of lead or lead alloy to form a welded part between cells. The protrusion 28, 30 of the negative electrode 20 are connected by means of straps 50, 52 which connect plates having a same polarity just same as the positive electrode 18, and the straps 50, 52 are connected to each other by means of strap connection means to form a welded part between cells. Accordingly an internal resistance in the storage battery is reduced and its capacity is increased to a prescribed size.
