Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a composition extremely effective in the prevention of fouling by special contaminants such as bacteria, mildews, and yeasts as well as ordinary contaminants.
CONSTITUTION: This antifouling coating composition comprises an organic solvent, a silicone or fluororesin dispersed or dissolved in the solvent, an inorganic filler, and an antibacterial agent. Due to the synergistic effect of the low surface energy of the resin and the rough surface contour attributable to the filler, fouling by contaminants including microorganisms can be prevented very effectively.
