Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enables electrode exchange possible without destroying welding atmosphere at TIG welding, and the like. SOLUTION: The electrode exchange device comprises an electrode feeding mechanism 1, and electrode storage mechanism 2 and an electrode chucking mechanism 3 and, an electrode 17 is taken into the electrode storage hole 18 of a rotor 13 by cutting off the air by opening/closing the sealing valves 16 and 17. Then, the electrode 17 is dropped into the electrode hole 34 of the chucking sleeve 26 by rotating the rotor 13 intermittently, and furthermore, pushing the chucking sleeve 26 down by activating the air pressure on to the piston 28, so that a collet 25, which is equipped at the tip end of the sleeve 26, is pressed to the tapered face of the current carrying tip 24 to hold the electrode 17. Since the feeding, holding and discharging of the electrode can be made in an airtight condition, the electrode can be exchanged without destroying a welding atmosphere in a welding chamber.
