Abstract:
Apparatus for supplying and discharging originals in a copying machine, comprising a first and a second cassette (5,6) for originals, a first feed path (20, 21, 24, 22, 25, 23) for feeding originals from the first cassette (5) to the imaging means (10) in a reversed orientation, a second feed path (31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 40) for feeding originals from the second cassette (6) to the imaging means (10), a turnover path (40, 32, 33, 34, 35, 40) for turning over originals coming form the imaging means (10) and returning them to the imaging means (10) in a reversed orientation, a first discharge path (21, 23, 25, 22, 26, 28, 27, 29) for discharging originals from the imaging means to the first cassette (5) in a reversed orientation and control means (15) for controlling the transport of the originals. The apparatus further comprises a second discharge path (40, 32, 41, 43, 42, 44) to feed originals from the imaging means (10) to the second cassette (6). The second feed path as well as the second di scharge path are so formed that an original is not reversed in respect of orientation. The control means (15) are so constructed that duplex originals in the first up to and including the penultimate flow cycle are fed from one cassette to the other and simplex originals, at least from the second flow cycle, are conveyed from the same cassette to the imaging means (10).
