PURPOSE: To provide a new isoindazole derivative having angiotensin II antagonistic action and hypotensive action and useful as an active component of preventive and treating agent for circulatory diseases effective by oral administration.
CONSTITUTION: The compound of formula I [R1 is (halo)alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkoxyl, etc.; R2 and R3 are H, halogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, CmF2m+1, (CH2)nR9 or (CH2)pCOR10 (R9 is OH or alkoxyl; R10 is R9, H or alkyl; (m) is 1-6; (n) is 1-4); (p) is 0-4), etc.; R4, R5, R7 and R8 are H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxyl or CmH2m+1; R6 is COOH, COOR11 (R11 is alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, etc.), CONH2, CN, SO3H, SO2NH2, etc.], e.g. 2-{[5-(2-butyl-4chloro-5-hydroxymethyl-1H- indazol-1-yl) methyl]-2-H-indazol-2-yl}benzoic acid. The compound can be produced by reacting a compound of formula II (L is eliminable group) with an imidazole compound of formula III.
