Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a process capable of removing safely harmful constituents such as white smoke, bad smell or the like which is contained in an exhaust gas generated from an electric furnace during melting materials or increasing the temperature of the same, a scrap preheating device during preheating the materials or the electric furnace. CONSTITUTION:A treating facility is constituted of a cooling device 4, cooling an exhaust gas to a low temperature zone not more than 50 deg.C whereat harmful constituents are solidified within a short period of time, and a dust collecting filter 7, consisting of a porous resin material for collecting the solidified harmful constituents, whereby harmful constituents such as bad smell or the like in the exhaust gas can be reduced to the degree of 1/500-1/1000 of the initial containing level of the same without making the use of the filter impossible due to clogging by condensate or the like.
