PURPOSE: To manufacture an electrode for a acid battery which is stabilized in quality, without the influence of season and weather factors, by using freezedried lead powder.

CONSTITUTION: Freezedried lead powder is used as raw material. Paste made from the lead powder is filled in a collector, aged and dried with hot air to form electrode for a lead acid battery. In this way, the freezedried lead powder allows the paste to be formed by kneading it in the condition that no water exists in the lead powder. The property of the paste can be, therefore, kept constant, reqardless of season nd whether factors. In freezedrying, water contained in the material lead powder is frozen at an extremely low temperature and decompressed to a steam pressure or lower, and in such a state the sublimation is performed so that the lead powder can be dried without being changed by heat.
