Abstract:
The invention is directed to a method of protecting a chemical compound from degradation comprising combining the chemical compound with an amino acid polymer or carbohydrate polymer. A pharmaceutical composition comprising an active ingredient that has been combined with an amino acid polymer and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient has been described. A method of protecting a chemical compound from degradation comprising manipulating the higher order structure of a synthetic protein and combining said chemical compound with the protein has been described. A method of controlling the release of a chemical compound comprising manipulating the higher order structure of a synthetic protein and combining said chemical compound with the protein, as well as by manipulating the length of the protein, has been described.
