Abstract:
A valve device for controlling flow of a sterile fluid production material (20) from a supply pipe (20) to a delivery pipe (6) comprises a first valve (1) having a first valve member (1a) for opening and closing a flow path from said supply pipe (11), a second valve (2) coaxial with said first valve (1) and having a second valve member (2a) for opening and closing a flow path into said delivery pipe (6), a chamber (5) formed between said first and second valves (1,2) and a steam inlet pipe (3) and steam outlet pipe (4) connected at opposite sides to said chamber (5) substantially at right angles to the common axis of said valves (1,2) for conducting a flow of steam through said chamber (5) for cleaning and sterilizing said valve members (1a,2a) when in the closed position.
