PURPOSE: To prepare shaved ice having freely controllable grain size, with an apparatus having simple structure, by attaching a shaving edge directly to the shaving chamber, and adjusting the projection of the edge by adjusting the movable adjustment wall placed in an opening.

CONSTITUTION: The lid 12 of the main body 1 of the ice shaver is opened, an ice cube is thrown into the shaving chamber 2, the lid 12 is closed again, the motor 9 is energized by the switch 10, and the rotary blades 3 are rotated via the speed reducer 8 to press the ice cube toward the side wall of the shaving chamber 2. The adjustment wall 6 is shifted forward or backward by the action of the spring 5 by turning the adjustment knob 7 to effect the adjustment of the radial difference (a) between the face of the adjustment wall 6 and the tip of the shaving edge 4. The ice cube is shaved with the projected edge, and is discharged from the opening 2a.
