Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ice storage utilizing effectively a surplus space under an ice takeout opening by lowering a slide door at the front of an ice storage chamber so as to open the ice takeout opening.
SOLUTION: When the ice takeout opening 5 is closed by raising the slide door 11, the upper end part of the slide door engages with a rail member 7 provided along the upper edge of the ice takeout opening 5. When the ice takeout opening 5 is opened by pulling down the slide door 11, the slide door 11 descends to the lower part of the front 4a of the ice storage chamber 4. The surplus space of the front 4a of the ice storage chamber 4 left under the ice takeout opening 5 can be utilized effectively as a space for holding the slide door 11 when the ice takeout opening 5 is opened. A front panel 2 is fitted to the front 4a of the ice storage chamber 4 and the ice takeout opening 5 is opened and closed by moving the slide door 11 vertically at the back of the panel. The slide door 11 is not touched directly, accordingly, and safety and cleanliness are attained, while sanitary properties are made excellent.
