Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an identification medium which presents different images between when irradiated with right circularly polarized light and when irradiated with left circularly polarized light, which allows for identifying authenticity of an article.SOLUTION: An identification medium, which can be provided on a specular surface for identification of authenticity, includes; a light reflective layer capable of reflecting either right circularly polarized light or left circularly polarized light in at least part of the visible light range and transmitting other circularly polarized light; and a low transmissivity layer which is provided overlapping the light reflective layer and has an average transmittance of no more than 63% for light in a wavelength range that can be reflected by the light reflective layer.
