Title:
IGNITION DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5525517
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce noise electromagnetic wave emitted from internal combustion engine to improve endurance and ignition performance by the efficient use of material liable to discharge.

CONSTITUTION: While electrodes 9, 10, 11, 12 at the fixed side of distributor section 7 are made of material such as aluminum liable to discharge, an ignition coil is connected such that central electrodes 13, 14, 15, 16 of spark plug have (+) polarity. Thus, the number of discharge at discharging material like aluminum with low endurance will be reduced to 1/(number of cylinders), i.e. 1/6 in 6 cylinders, to improve substantially endurance of material, compared with the case that aluminum is employed for rotary electrode 8 side. Also a spark plug having side electrodes 24, 25 opposed to the side of center electrode 21 is used to give (+) polarity to the center electrode 21. Hence required discharge voltage becomes lower than that in the center electrode 21 of (-) polarity to reduce noise electromagnetic wave and improve ignition property.
