PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a spark ignition device simultaneously performing wick lifting and ignition operations with one action as a wick lifting device capable of arbitrary alteration of a highest wick lifting position.
SOLUTION: A gear 3 and an operation plate 6 are provided which use a wick lifting shaft 1 as a rotation center, and a stopper part 4 of the wick lifting shaft 1 pushes a protrusion part 5 of the gear 3 to wind up a return spring provided on the gear 3. The operation plate 6 engages with the protrusion part 5 of the gear 3 at one position among a plurality of positions, and both are united integrally. The gear 3 or the operation plate 6 is engages with a stopper 7 at a highest wick lifting position resisting storage force of the return spring, the highest wick lifting position can be changed by altering the engagement position between the protrusion part 5 of the gear 3 and the operation plate 6. A discharge electrode faces a protruded wick from a wick container cylinder, and an ignition switch 11 for starting a high voltage generator circuit of the discharge electrode is opened and closed with a driving part 12 provided on the operation plate 6, and a discharge ignition device is operated upon wick lifting rotation from the highest wick lifting position to ignite the wick having been lifted.
