Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of knocking by calculation-setting the ignition timing according to the intake quantity after correction by correcting the detection value of intake quantity according to the degree of acceleration, in case of engine acceleration, in the constitution in which the ignition timing is set according to the intake quantity and the number of engine revolution.

CONSTITUTION: During the engine operation, an ECU 20 calculates the number of engine revolution from the output signal of a crank angle sensor 31, and the instantaneous value of the intake quantity is calculated from the number of engine revolution and the output signal of an air flow sensor 14, and the fundamental ignition timing is read out, referring a prescribed ignition timing map according to the intake quantity per intake cycle and the number of engine revolution. Further, in acceleration, the correction value is set according to the time variation (acceleration degree) of the opening degree of a throttle valve which is detected by a throttle valve opening degree sensor 30, and the intake quantity is acceleration-corrected according to the correction value, and the fundamental ignition timing is calculated according to the intake quantity after correction.
