To provide an illuminating device which can easily change positions and the number of light sources and, with a simple structure, can perform on-off control of the light sources in accordance with communication with a host unit.
A rail connector 2 has: a rail body; a power supply conductor rail which is provided along a longitudinal direction of the rail body and is supplied with a plus side of a power supply; a ground conductor rail with which a minus side of the power supply is supplied; and a communication conductor rail with which a communication signal is supplied. A relay connector 3 with a lighting function is installed so that it can travel on the rail body. The relay connector 3 with a lighting function has: terminals connected to the power supply, the ground, and the communication conductor rail respectively; an LED light source 8; and a CPU for controlling lighting of the LED light source 8 on the basis of communication signals inputted by the communication conductor rail.
