This image blur correction device has a holding member which holds an image blur correction system and a drive means which intersects this holding member orthogonally with the optical axis of the image blur correction system and independently moves the holding member in a first direction and second direction respectively orthogonal with each other. The device puts the first or second direction into a direction forming 45° from a horizontal direction with the forward position of an apparatus mounted in the first or second direction.
