To miniaturize an inertia body to prevent the rotation irregularity of an image carrier, to prevent the occurrence of the irregularity of an image by raising the resonance frequency of a driving transmission system between the inertia body and a photoreceptor to a range by which a problem is not caused to the image and also to reduce color slippage in the case of driving plural photoreceptors in an image carrier driving device.
A fly wheel 22 which is the inertia body of the photoreceptor 1 is rotated by accelerating it more than the photoreceptor 1, and a gear whose rigidity is high is used as the driving transmission means between the fly wheel 22 and the photoreceptor 1. Thus, the effect of large inertia is obtained by using the small fly wheel 22, and also the resonance frequency between the fly wheel 22 and the photoreceptor 1 is raised to the range by which the problem is not caused to the image.
