To provide a image communication unit having printers whose recording resolutions differ from each other where when one printer among the printers makes printout and recording media such as toner and ink used in the printer run short and any of the remaining printers prints out data, the printer can continue the printing without delay.

The image communication unit is provided with a control means that when a 1st recording medium remaining amount detection means or a 2nd recording medium remaining amount detection means detects that the remaining amount of the recording media is a prescribed amount or below, data are converted into data with a resolution in matching with the resolution of the printer whose residual amount of the recording media suffices, and the printer whose residual amount of the recording media is sufficient is selected for the printout.
