Abstract:
PURPOSE: To speed up compression processing by setting the size of a file assigned corresponding to one image to a constant value larger than a value corresponding to the amount of information selected as the amount of data representing the image itself.
CONSTITUTION: Image files B1, B2, and B3 consist of header parts, image data parts, and 0-data parts B1a, B2a, and B3a respectively. A value 0 is written in those 0-data parts B1a, B2a, and B3a, which vary in area size according to the image data. In this case, the image file size is set constant. Then when a trigger switch button is pressed in set recording mode, trigger processing is started up and it is checked whether or not recording is possible. When so, an image recording start address is set. Further, the final addresses of the files are set according to fixed file size. Furthermore, compression specifications, i.e., compression parameters are set without exceeding the address and the compression processing is carried out.
