The image data management device is provided with an image data storage means 3 and a management side processing means 2 linked to the image data storage means 3. When the management side processing means 2 receives image data which are photographed by a digital image pickup means 6 connectable to the management side processing means 2, and image identification information which is made to correspond to a photographing object; it specifies a transmission origin specific information of a transmission origin of the image data and the image identification information, and associates the image identification information with each specified transmission origin specific information. Further, the management side processing means 2 is provided with a function which associates photographing date and time of the image data and the image data with the image identification information, and stores them in the image data storage means successively; and a function for extracting image data which are corresponding to designated image identification information and selected on the basis of a preset rule, from the image data storage means when an image data request signal is inputted by designating the image identification information and for outputting them.
