Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain high speed image compression by reading and compressing image data of a specific amount having been already stored in parallel with the storage of image data of a specific amount received serially in an image memory.
SOLUTION: Areas of an image RAM 26 storing temporarily image data are made up of an input image memory area 261, an compressed image memory area 262, an output image memory area 263. A DMAC 27 has 1st-6th channel control sections conducting DMA transfer of plural channels for image data. Received image data D1 are once stored in an input image memory area 261 by a control section 271, a control section 272 gives the data to a compressor 28 in the unit of blocks, compression data D2 are stored in the compression information memory area 262 by a control section 273. The processing of compressing the image data received serially is conducted at a high speed through the parallel processing of the storage and compression of the image data.
