Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the consumption of memory capacity while securing the picture quality of a regenerative image.
CONSTITUTION: The image data of an original are read by a copy machine or the like, when the automatic feeding mode (ADF) of the original is not set, a compression level is reduced, at the time of ADF, the compression level at a character part is enlarged, and the compression level at half tone and dot parts is set small while discriminating the kind of the image. Then, the image data compressed at this set compression level are recorded in a memory.
