Abstract:
PURPOSE: To suppress the disturbance of an image by clearing the data remaining in a buffer when the reproduction mode is changed and therefore matching the reproduction mode and a reproduced image.
CONSTITUTION: An input beam stream 8 is once stored in a buffer 1 and decoded by a variable length decoder means 2. Then the decoded stream 8 is subjected to a prescribed image processing, and a decoded image 9 is outputted. If a normal reproduction mode is switched to a fast forward mode, the reproduced data remain in the buffer 1 in this switching instant. If the switching of modes is detected by a reproduction mode detector means 7 under such conditions, a clear signal is sent to the buffer 1. Thus the data remaining in the buffer 1 are cleared, and the reproduction is started at and after the data obtained after the change of the reproduction mode. Therefore a reproduced image is changed by the same timing in response to the change of the reproduction mode so that the disturbance of the image can be eliminated when a mode.
