Abstract:
PURPOSE:To perform the readout of an image and then make it vivid by a method wherein image exposure is performed in the state of impressing a voltage between a conductive supporting body and band electrodes of photosensitive bodies, and then a current flowing through the band electrodes is detected by scanning the surface of a photoconductive layer with a spot light. CONSTITUTION:When the image exposure is given onto the surface of the photoconductive layer 4 by impressing the voltage between the conductive supporting body 1 and the band electrodes A1-A3, charge carriers are produced at a light irradiated part, and accordingly charges generate in the surface of the photoconductive layer. When the surface of the photo conductive layer is scanned with the spot light after the image exposure is finished, the produced free charge carriers flow into the band electrodes at the part which has been corresponding to a dark part at the time of the image expoure; an electric field is cancelled, at the part corresponding to a bright part, by the charges existent in the surface of the conductive layer, therefore the free charge carriers do not generate. Image information can be taken out as an electrical signal by detecting the current flowing through the band electrodes by means of the produced free charge carriers.
