Abstract:
To provide an image discrimination circuit that can properly discriminate a natural image from a character image, which is required to correct the image quality by a display device and which has been a problem in the conventional circuit.
This image discrimination circuit discriminates images of image data received externally, is provided with a means including a delay circuit 1 and a subtractor 2 to detect a luminance level of a pixel in all or part of areas in a prescribed unit of the image data and a means, including an accumulation circuit 4 that accumulates luminance level fluctuations between pixels whose luminance level is detected, on the basis of the result of detection so as to calculate the accumulated sum.
